Built by people
who write for
a living.

Speech is made by Rupees Venture Private Limited, in Indore. It was used inside the company before it was offered to anybody else.

A room full of
people typing
the same way.

The people who build Speech spend their day writing: briefs, client mails, feedback on a cut, and a great many messages, every day, all day.

The writing was the job

Not a side effect of the job. A team that spends its day writing to creators, clients and each other is a team that feels every minute typing costs, and notices immediately when a tool gets it wrong.

And it was all Hinglish

Scroll any of those work chats and it is Roman script with Hindi words in it. Every dictation tool on the market either translated that into English or wrote it back in Devanagari. Neither is what anybody had typed.

So we used it first

Speech ran inside the company before it was offered anywhere else. The first bug reports came from colleagues, in person, which is a hard way to ship a bad build.

Three things we
decided early.

They are the reasons the product looks the way it does, and each one costs us something, which is how you can tell we meant them.
