Wispr Flow is the closest thing to Speech that exists, and it is a good product. Here is where each one wins, with the source and the date for every number.

Both products price India separately, so both columns carry two numbers: what each charges here, and what each charges elsewhere. Wispr Flow’s India prices are what their own pricing page shows on an Indian connection, not their dollar price converted — their India rate works out near ₹27 to the dollar against a market rate near ₹88. Their team plan appears twice because the meeting notetaker is an add-on for them; ours is in every paid plan, so the like-for-like line is the one that includes it. Word limits are converted to minutes at 130 words a minute, an ordinary speaking pace.
The difference that is structural
Roman Hinglish
is not a language
setting.
On 14 September 2026 we ran the same five spoken Hinglish clips through both apps on the same iPhone, on the same wifi, into the same text field. For mixed Hindi and English, Wispr Flow wrote Devanagari with the English words in Latin. Speech wrote Roman Hinglish. That is not a gap either product closes by adding a language, because it is a decision about what an Indian sentence looks like when it is written down.

Their iPhone app is out
Ours is built and in App Store review. Until it clears, they have a shipping iPhone keyboard and we do not.
Their first call is slower, though
The same run measured a 14.8 second cold start on their first dictation of a session. If you dictate in short bursts through the day, that is the number you actually feel.

The script and latency findings come from a run on 14 September 2026: one iPhone, both keyboards, the same five synthesised Hinglish clips, the same text field and the same wifi, each clip played to both apps.
Recognition accuracy is deliberately not scored here. Across five clips both products made mistakes, neither was stable enough on repeated audio for a number to mean anything, and a benchmark we ran on ourselves is not evidence you should buy on. Try both on your own sentences.

Is Wispr Flow a bad product?
No. It is very good, it is faster than us once warm, and it shipped an iPhone app before we did. It is built for a market that mostly writes in one language, and that is the assumption this page is about.
Why is Speech cheaper?
It is set at half of theirs, in each country, against the price they actually charge there. In India that means ₹199 against their ₹400, not ₹199 against a converted dollar figure. And our team plan includes the meeting notetaker, which is the add-on that takes theirs from ₹613 to ₹880.
Are these figures kept up to date?
Every number carries the date it was read. When we refresh the page, the date moves with it. If you find one that has gone stale, tell us at support@rupees.com.
Can I use both?
Yes, and if you are deciding, that is the sensible thing to do for a week.
What about the free plans?
Both are genuinely usable. Ours gives about two and a half times the desktop allowance and does not meter Android at all; theirs does not meter Android either.
